Jablonka of 8234 Elmer Hill Road, Rome, New York, died Friday, June 3, 2005 in Crouse Irving Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness. She was born February 17, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Andrew and Ursula Sawalska Ostrowski. Mrs. Jablonka was educated in Brooklyn. On October 18, 1942 she married Benjamin Jablonka in New York City. Helen was employed at Revere Copper and Brass for several years retiring in 1982 and later was employed by the American Red Cross in the Rome Area. Mrs. Jablonka was a member of Transfiguration Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Helen took great pride in caring for the altar linens at the church. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Paula Jablonka, Oneida; Richard and Judy Jablonka, Baldwinsville; John and Elaine Jablonka, Syracuse; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Frank Milewski, Floral Park, New York six grandchildren, Mark, David, Sandra, Theresa, Eric, Scott and three great-grandchildren, Megan, Ryan and Daniel. Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome, Tuesday 9:00A.M. and Transfiguration Church 9:30A.M. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 5:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. Contributions may be made to the Palliative Care Services of Crouse Irving Hospital, 736 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, New York 13210. Services: Calling hours Mon. 5-8pm Funeral Tues. 9am at funeral home and 9:30am at Transfiguration Church
