Obituary:Philomena (Fannie) Kierpiec, 88, of Skinner Road, Vernon, NY passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at St Elizabeth's Hospital. She was born May 28, 1920 in Utica, the daughter of Joseph and Philomena Asselta DiNitto. Her husband, the former John J. Kierpiec predeceased her on February 24, 2004.
Fannie was a retiree from the Rome State School. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and a former member of the Frank J. Steczko Post Ladies Auxiliary. She will always be known for her love of cooking, baking and sewing.
Surviving are daughters, JoAnn (John) Preputnik of Milan MI, JoMarie (Thomas) Hanggi of Chittenango;Sons, Joseph Kierpiec of Rome,and John Kierpiec of Vernon; brothers, Joseph (Joan) DiNitto of Haven, KS and Anthony (Ginger) DiNitto of Frankfort, NY; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law, Wendy Kierpiec; two sisters, Mary DiNitto and Delores Campbell; and a grandson, Michael Kierpiec.
Services: Funeral Services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome, on Monday at 11:00am. Interment St Peter's Cemetery.
