Name: Ronald S. Kessler Sr. Date of Death: Saturday, April 22, 2006 Residence: Rome NY Age: 67 Obituary:Ronald S. Kessler, Sr., 67, of Rome, died April 22, 2006 after a long illness. He was born October 2, 1938 in Mt. Kisco, NY, the son of Harvey and Sarah Ketchum Kessler, Sr. He was educated in Rome schools. On November 7, 1981, he married Jean Angell in Fish Creek Landing. Ron retired from Camden Wire after twenty-three years in 2004. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Mr. Kessler was a life member of the Lee American Legion and the US Marine Corps League and he was a past member of the United Polka League and the Rome Moose Club. Ron was also an avid fisherman. Surviving besides his wife are, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lyn and PJ Klein, Lee, Patti and David Flanagan, Rome, and Paula Anania, Rome; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Jan Kessler, Jr., and Charles House, all of Utica; one sister, Patricia Desautels, Westminster, MD; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harvey and Mary Kessler, Jr., and James and Jane Kessler, all of Florence; fourteen grandchildren, and one great granddaughter; two step brothers, Harold Johnson, Lee Center, and Ronald Johnson, Texas; mother-in-law, Cora Angell, Rome; special and devoted friends, Chris, Floyd, and Daniel Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Rodney Kessler, and his father-in-law, Lavern Angell. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00A.M. at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Contributions in Ron's memory may be made to the Ron Kessler Benefit or the US Marine Corps League. Services: Calling hours Tuesday 2-4pm and 7-9pm Funeral Wedneday 11am at the funeral home.
