Grieco, 91, of 5137 Golly Rd., Rome, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 24, 1917, in Cold Brook, NY, the daughter of David and Bessie Dygert Jones. She attended Poland Schools. On August 19, 1939, she was united in marriage to Salvatore V. "Sam" Grieco in St. John the Baptist Church in Rome. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving besides her loving husband of sixty-nine years, Sam; are three daughters and one son-in-law, Barbara Grieco, of Rome, Lorraine and Tom Holzberger, of Ava, and Diane Grieco, of Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Dawn Grieco, of Taberg; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Bette Michaniw, Ethel Deming, both of Rome, Florence and Dayton Leon, of Little Falls, Helen Verro, of Rome, and Arlene and Lawrence Proper, of Rome; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Hazel was predeceased by three brothers, Garnett "Sam", Arthur, and David, and three sisters, Katherine Levesque, Winifred Yager, and Irene Matthews. Services: Funeral services will be held at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 9:45am and a Mass of the Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30am. Interment will take place in St. John's Cemetery.
