Obituary: Margaret Elizabeth Brady Healy, 96, of Elmer Hill Rd., Rome, passed away on Thursday, Thanksgiving, November 27, 2008, at Bethany Gardens with her loving family at her side. She was born on July 10, 1912, in Rome, the daughter of Edward and Emma Ross Brady. She was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy. On August 19, 1939, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Carey Healy in St. Peter's Church. Mr. Healy passed away on March 13, 1965.
Mrs. Healy was a teacher at St. Aloysius Academy for nine years.
She was a member of St. Peter's Church and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Emma Louise "Emmy Lou" Healy, of Rome, Peggy and Gordon Stearns, of Glenwood, NY and of Sewalls Pt., FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence C. "Larry" and Carol Healy, of Rome; a grandson, Lawrence Carey Healy; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by two grandchildren, Peggy's sons, Joseph and Brett; three sisters, Regina LaPlante, Dorothy Dickson, Marion Franklyn; and five brothers, John Brady, Bill Brady, Paul Brady, Bernie Brady, and Matthew Brady.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 9:45 AM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, and a Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church where the Rev. Philip A. Hearn will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942.
