Galm, 88, formerly of Cherrywood Lane, Rome, died Tuesday, Nvember 04, 2008 at Betsy Ross Nursing Home. She was born September 4, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Lieberman Sherman. Mrs. Galm was educated in Chicago. On July 31, 1953 she married Edward W. "Eddie" Galm in Ft. Dix, New Jersey. He died December 10, 2001. Anna was employed at Rite Aid for several years retiring in 1985. She served in the United States Army Women's Army Corp from 1952-1954. Mrs. Galm was a member of St. Paul's Church and the Rome Columbiaettes of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are special friends Louise and Don Smith, Rome. She was predeceased by a son, Edward Larry Galm. He died February 19, 1975. Louise and Don would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Betsy Ross Nursing Home for their kindness and compassion shown to her. Services: Funeral will be held Thursday 10:30AM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George, Rome and St. Paul's Church 11:00A.M. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 9:30A.M. to 10:30A.M. Thursday. Contributions maybe made in Anna's memory to St. Paul's Church Memorial Fund.
