Obituary: Edward F. Curran, 80, of Matthews St., Rome, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Rome Memorial Hospital, following a long illness. He was born on July 27, 1928, in Clark Mills, the son of Charles and Anna Aigner Curran. He attended Whitesboro schools. On October 8, 1966, he was united in marriage to Esther Pentasuglia in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Curran was employed by Redstar Express for several years, retiring in 1977. He was previously employed by Coleman Brothers Trucking.
He was a member of St. Peter's Church. Edward was an avid member of the Ducks Unlimited.
Surviving besides his loving wife of forty-two years, Esther; are four daughters, Penny Rose and her husband, Ralph Warren, of Rome, Cindy Abner, of Virginia, Sharon Dyke, of North Carolina, and Patricia Montague, of Chadwicks; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services: Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Friday, September 12, 2008, at 12:30 PM and a Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church at 1:00 PM where the Rev. Philip A. Hearn will officiate. Entombment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Utica. Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
