(Jim) Clawson, 74, of 9987 State Rt 274, Holland Patent, New York, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in Rome Memorial Hospital after being stricken at home. He was born October 30, 1933 in Oriskany the son of Harold and Blanche Werthman Clawson. Jim was educated in Clinton. He was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base for several years retiring in 1980 and also owned and operated a livestock farm. Mr. Clawson served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Steuben United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori Ellen and Mitchell Orr, Lompoc, California; Julie Ann and William York, Santa Margarita, California; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Clawson, Plano, Texas; Harold Clawson and his, significant other, Jessica Wilczek, Floyd ;one brother and sister-in law, Russell (Russ) and LuAnn Clawson, Remsen; fourteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Mahoney. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2008, at 2:00P.M. at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome.
