Name: Anna E. Button Date of Death: Tuesday, May 31, 2005 Residence: Rome NY Age: 88 Obituary:Anna E. Button, 88, of N. James St., Rome died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 in Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born August 24, 1916 in Rome, the daughter of Charles and Anna Lutz Button. Miss Button graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1934. Anna worked at Rome Specialty Co., Inc. for seventy years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member and former officer of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society for many years. Anna was also a member of the Rome Theresians and Christ Child Society, and Rome Historical Society. She was a life member of Rome Women's Bowling Association and enjoyed bowling with her friends. Anna enjoyed doing volunteer work at Rome Bethany Guild. She was a former member of the National Secretary's Association, Rome Catholic Women's Club and Rome Business and Professional Club. Anna was a devoted guardian of her niece, Nancy C. Button Reilly and she loved and enjoyed "the little children." She loved to read and travel with her family, especially to visit the Holy Shrines. "Aunt Annie" was a great source of inspiration to her loving family and will be deeply missed by them. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by three sisters, Nellie Button, Alice Reid, and Justina Fellows, and two brothers, Frank and George Button. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 a.m. from the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., and 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Contributions in Anna's memory may be made to St. Mary's Church Memorial Fund. Services: Calling hours Thurs. 5-8pm Funeral Fri. 10:30am funeral home and 11am St. Mary's Church
