Name: Robert G. "Bob" Parmerter Date of Death: Thursday, July 17, 2008 Residence: Rome, New York Age: 82 Obituary:Robert G. "Bob" Parmerter, 82, of N. Jay St., Rome, passed away on July 17, 2008, at Rome Memorial Hospital follwing a long illness. On March 5, 1926, Bob was born in Florida, New York, the son of Robert and Hazel Van Kleeck Parmerter. He was a graduate of Highland Falls High School. On May 6, 1974, Bob was united in marriage with Sarah "Sally" Clark in Newburgh, NY. He was employed by Lumb Woodworking Co. in Poughkeepsie, for several years, retiring in 1989. He was previously employed as a Journeyman Printer. Bob proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Surviving besides his loving wife of thirty-four years, Sally; are two daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Ronald Broughton, of Rome, and Rhonda and Robert Carney, of Middletown, RI; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Laurie Parmerter, of New Windsor, NY; three grandchildren, Christina and her husband, Lee Fyock, Gordon Ewing, and Eric Broughton; two great-granddaughters, Erika and Alexandra; and a great-grandson, Colin. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery.
