(Bill) Herrig, Sr., 92 of Rome died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in Stonehedge Nursing Home. He was born July 1, 1913 in Rome the son of Stephen and Violet Wisemore Herrig. Mr. Herrig was educated in Rome. On May 18, 1935 he married Mary Catherine Manning in Rome she died November 18, 1971. He later married Marion Grissom on December 9, 1972 in Verona she died September 13, 1999. Mr. Herrig was employed as a mechanic for A.R. Grundy, Utica and was previously employed by Joe Torres Buick and Coleman Brothers. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Dennis Bellinger, Rome; Nancy and Bill Wimble, Valrico, Florida; Betty Ann and David Havener, Blossvale; one son William Herrig, Rome; one step-son and daughter-in-law, George and Mary Bellinger, Imperial, Pennsylvania; five sister-in-laws, Julia Herrig, Westmoreland, Dolores Herrig, Blossvale, Wanda Herrig, Salem, OH, Janet Fowle and Nadine Linguia, both of Sun City, AZ; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Otto and Arthur Herrig. The family would like to express their heartful thanks to all the Caregivers of their Dad during his stay at Stonehedge. Your compassion and loving care was definitely a difference in our Dad's life. His little grin to each of you was refreshing to us. We will be forever greatful to each and everyone of you. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Saturday 9:30A.M. Interment Rathbunville Cemetery, Town of Verona. Friends may call at the funeral home 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Friday. Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Services: Calling hours 4-7pm Friday Funeral 9:30am Saturday at the Funeral Home
