Obituary: Vivian F. Mercuri, 71, of Rome, died July 9, 2008 in Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Robinston, ME, the daughter of Lionel and Kathleen Morrison. She was educated in Cambridge, MA, schools. On October 26, 1951, she married Pasquale (Pat) Mercuri in Boston, MA.
Vivian worked as a bookkeeper for the Rome United Way and Rosen's Menswear.
She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Habitat for Humanity and AARP.
Surviving besides her husband, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Dr. John George, of Verona, and Sandra (Sandie) and Andrew Stage, of Baldwinsville; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Carol Adams, of Wakefield, MA, Sharon Warner, of Nashville, TN, and Donna and Red Lewis, of Bridgewater, MA; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Gordon and Jeannette Morrison, Summerfield, FL, and Richard Morrison, of Boston, MA; four grandchildren, M. Jenna Catanzaro, Benjamin George, Andrew Stage and Collin Stage; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Blanche Curtis and Elizabeth Gutro, and two brothers, Buddy and James Morrison.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00AM at the First United Methodist Church. Interment will take place in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Sunday from 4-7pm.
