Galanti, 70, of 6629 Bishop Rd., Rome, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009, at Masonic Care Community in Utica. He was born on January 13, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Salvatore and Josephine Schimmentti Galanti. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Queens. On May 7, 1961, he was united in marriage to Judith C. Berker. Mrs. Galanti passed away in 1990. Mr. Galanti was a District Agent for Aid Association for Lutherans for many years and later was a tax collector for New York State for several years, retiring in 1999. Michael was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Moose Club. Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Victor Tollerton, of Utica, Victoria Benjamin, and Christina Galanti, both of Rome; a son, Joseph Galanti, of Rome; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Amelia Galanti, of Staten Island; and five grandchildren, Michala, Danielle, Judy, Cassandra, and Larry Paul; and a special friend, Antoinette "Toni" Di Bernardo. Michael's family wishes extend their gratitude to the staff at the Masonic Care Community, Saratoga Neighborhood, especially Robin, for the kindness and compassion shown to him. Services: Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1604 Genesee St., Utica, at 10:00 AM where the Rev. Anita Mohr will officiate. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Lee. Family and friends are invited and may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N.
