Name: Dale A. Ketchum Date of Death: Friday, June 13, 2008 Residence: Stittville, New York Age: 62 Obituary: Dale A. Ketchum, 62, of Stittville, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2008 at his residence. Dale was born November 23, 1945, in Utica, the son of Hiram and Noreen Gruber Ketchum. Dale has resided in the town of Floyd for all of his 62 years. Dale was a graduate of Holland Patent Central High School and MVCC. He was the owner/operator of Ketchum Enterprises, a former employee of Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center, Pettibone, and a former member of the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lance and Virginia Ketchum, of Barneveld; Josh Ketchum, of Floyd; three step-daughters and two sons-in-law, Julie and Thomas Reeves, of Greenwood, MO, Lisa Scarbary, and Tammie and Rav Peck, all of Davie, FL; three grandsons, Nicholas, Nathan and Tyler; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Lee Strazinski, of Williamstown, NJ; Carol and George Powell, of Sioux Falls, SD. a brother, Roger Ketchum, of Marcy; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dale also left behind Shirley Ketchum and Bonnie Swisher, the mothers of his children, as well as many close friends; all will miss him dearly. Dale was a loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, and a true, honest, hard working man. He loved being outdoors and relished in the thought of his next project or idea. He also was an avid gardener. Dale was a man who gave much and asked for very little. For all of those whose paths he has crossed, they are the wiser. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street Rome, at 2:00 PM. Interment Floyd Cemetery.
