Obituary:Gertrude B. (Trudy) Pfrimmer, 76, of 413 Lynwood Street, Rome passed away peacefully on Friday April 7, 2006 at Rome Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side.
She was born on August 6, 1929 in Rome, the daughter of Francis and Ida Mae Wallis Baynes. Trudy was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy and attended Cortland College.
She was employed at Rome Cable Corporation , was a Practical Children's Nurse at St. Joseph's Home, Utica and Director at the Utica Day Nursery.
On July 31, 1954 she married Charles R.(Chuck) Pfrimmer of Whitefish, Montana at St. Peter's Church, Rome.
Trudy was a Charter member of St. Paul's Church, an active member of Bittersweet Twig and served on several Hospice Committees including the Eupercian Delight and the Light up a Life committee. She was a lifetime member of the Delta Omega Society and past member of the Rome Home Board, Altar-Rosary Society, McConnellsville Country Club, Teugega County Club, Lake Delta Yacht Club and the Griffiss Ski Club. Trudy attended Novena at Transfiguration Church faithfully for over forty years. She loved to travel, golf, play bridge and Bunko, watch baseball, soccer and dance recitals, shop and spend time with her friends.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Chuck, two daughters and one son, Nan K. Pfrimmer, Sandra J. Pfrimmer and Richard J. Pfrimmer, all of Rome. She was predeceased by three brothers, Jack Baynes, Francis (June) Baynes and William Baynes. She is survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, special friends and her "adopted" children Sally and Allen.
The family would like to thank Dr. A. Butala, the staff at Faxton Regional Cancer Center, the sixth floor at St. Luke's Hospital and the third floor of Rome Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care and support shown to them and Trudy.
Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Tuesday 10:45A.M. and St. Paul's Church 1130A.M. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rome Catholic School Scholarship Fund or St. Paul's Church Social Ministry or Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
