Murphy, 53, a resident of Spaulding Support Services, Syracuse, New York since 1985, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 after a long illness. She was born May 1, 1955 in Massapequa Park, New York the daughter of James and Helen Gallagher Murphy. Eileen graduated in 1976 from Rosemary Kennedy Special Education School in Nassau County, New York. She was an avid bowler, swimmer and loved music and dancing. She also participated in the Special Olympics in Nassau County when she was in her teens. Eileen is survived by two loving brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Sheila Murphy ,Rome; William and Diana Murphy, Jupiter, Florida; two nieces, Erin and her spouse, Shawn, Megan and a nephew, Patrick. She was the love of her Aunt Elizabeth Murphy of Brooklyn, New York. She is also survived by her current family of Spaulding Support Services, James, Mike, Shelly, Mary Esther, Stephen, Roseanne and Lisa along with the loving staff who cared for her deeply while she lived there. Eileen was an Angel here on Earth and now she is an Angel in Heaven. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Church Friday, May 30, 2008, at 2:00P.M. Friends may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome, Friday 12:30P.M. to 1:30P.M. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
