Obituary: Jason C. Wilhelm, 25, of Rome, passed away at home Tuesday May 27, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 24, 1982 in Rome the son of Tammy Closinski Fleming. He was a graduate of Camden High School.
Jason played the drums in the band "The Blueprint" and was very active in the Camden Fife and Drum Corps. and Relay for Life.
Jason's family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, for their knowledge, kindness, and support-especially Dr. Alok Khorana and Lisa McNiece. Also, Dr. David Kirk and his staff in Rome for always being there for us.
He is survived by his mother, Tammy Fleming and Andy Box, Rome; two brothers, Thomas and Joseph Fleming, Rome; step-father, Bob Fleming, Camden; sister, Erin Fleming, Rome; his biological father, Christopher Wilhelm, Arizona; sisters, Rian Wilhelm and Allyson Barton, both of Washington State; a niece, Erin Lynn Barton; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Marlene Closinski, Rome; paternal grandparents, Phil and Irene Wilhelm, Rome; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and hundreds of great friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7pm. Contributions in Jason's name can be made to your local Relay For Life Team.
