George St., Rome, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Rome Nursing Home. He was born on June 30, 1924, in Utica, the son of J. Albert and Flora M. Bracey Myers. He was a graduate of Holland Patent Central High School. On September 30, 1944, he was united in marriage to Frances Yakubowski in Transfiguration Church in Rome. Robert retired from the Marcy Psychiatric Hospital after working thirty years. Mr. Myers proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Surviving besides his loving wife of sixty-four years, Frances; are two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Peter Pickard, of Rome, and Patricia and Richard Yager, of Rock Hill, SC; one sister and brother-in-law, June and Richard Krebs, of Floyd; a brother and sister-in-law, Frederick A. and Marjorie Myers, of Floyd; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services: Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Townsend Cemetery in the spring. There are no calling hours. Contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the St. Paul's Church Memorial Fund.
