Dupont, 90, of 7016 Hunter Lane, Hyattsville, Maryland, formerly of Rome, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 after a long illness. She was born November 19, 1916 in Rome the daughter of William J and H. Fredericka Joynt Cosgriff. Mrs. Dupont was a graduate of Rome Free Academy the Class of 1934, Utica School of Commerce and Eureka College, Illinois, Teachers Aid Program. On May 10, 1941 she married Francis W. Dupont, Sr. in St. Peter's Church, Rome. He died February 23, 1999. Mrs. Dupont has resided in Maryland for the past five years. Marjorie was employed for the Rome City School System and was previously employed by Iseneker Dairy. While in Rome she was a member of St. Peter's Church, the Rome Catholic Charities, American Red Cross and was very active in the Rome and Annsville Historical Society. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Anne and John Scott, with whom she resided; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Pettigrew and four grandsons, Thomas and Kerry Dupont, Philip and Kelly Dupont, E.J. and Catie Dupont and Michael Dupont, five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Will, Brendan, Max and Lauren Dupont and god-daughter, Amy Warner.She was predeceased by one son, Francis W. (Bill) Dupont, Jr. who died in 1978. Services: Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Saturday 10:15A.M. and St. Peter's Church 11:00A.M. Interment St. Peters Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Friday. Contributions may be made in Marjorie's memory to the Rome Jervis Library.
