Beasock, 93, formerly of State RT 26, Ava, New York died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born April 2, 1915, in Rome, the daughter of Albert and Fannie Weaver Backus. Mrs. Beasock was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On April 20, 1935, she married Joseph V. Beasock in Syracuse. He died January 19, 1993. Mrs. Beasock was employed by Griffiss Air Force Base for over twenty years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. Elberta was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Paul Pawlikowski, Taberg; Candace (Candy) and Roger Willson, Ava; two sons and daughters-in-law, V. Eugene and Beth Beasock, Canastota; Joseph Vincent and Peggy Beasock, Oriskany; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandsons, George C. Marsh, Jr., Randy Beasock, three sisters, Gladys, Emma Backus, Agnes Caldine and two brothers, Robert and Albert Backus.
