Holly G. Gentile, 58, of Bishopp Rd., Rome, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at SUNY Upstate Hospital.

 

She was born on June 26, 1966, in Rome, the daughter of Rudolph and Doris (Jones) Roberts. Holly was a 1985 graduate of Rome Free Academy.

 

On October 11, 2008, she was united in marriage to Frank P. Gentile in Westernville.

 

Holly owned and operated Holly’s Hair Hideaway for over thirty-five years.

 

She was an avid quilter and decorator.  She loved boating and fishing on the St. Lawrence River. She was a member of the American Ukrainian Club and the Rome Polish Home.

 

Surviving besides her loving husband, Frank; are a son, Christopher Gentile, of Rome; her siblings, Heather Roberts, of WA, Heidi Roberts, of WA, Beth Olmsted, of MI, and Mark (Lorraine) Roberts, of CO; her in-laws, Patty Conover, Carol Anno, Lori (Doug) Matt, all of Rome; Theresa Gentile, of Lee; and many nieces and nephews. Holly was predeceased by her parents; and her brothers-in-law. Michael “Herbie” Gentile, and Russell “Snook” Conover.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., Rome.  Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring.  Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
