Obituary of Karen A. Huss

Karen A. Huss, 69, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Rome Health. She was born in Utica, NY, on December 13, 1954. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and Mohawk Valley Community College.

 

Karen was a Registered Nurse and started her career at Rome Memorial Hospital. She then went to work at Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital and Marcy Correction Facility before retiring from Bethany Gardens.

 

Karen was a member of Resurrection Life Church in Rome. She enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook. Her favorite thing was to be surrounded by her grandchildren.

 

She is survived by her mother, Wilda Huss; a daughter, Kelly Libby; four sons, Edmund, James, Justin and William Libby; a brother, Jeffrey Huss (Wynn); former husband, William Burk; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by former husband, Steven Libby; and her grandmother, Dorothy Caldwell.

 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
