Obituary of Beverly A. Cristman

On Thursday October 17, 2024, Beverly A. Cristman, 97, of Rome, NY passed from this life with her loving family by her side and went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ. She had been a long-term resident of Bethany Gardens Nursing Home in Rome. Born July 25, 1927 in Ilion, NY, she was the daughter of Harry and Julia Delaney Rutherford. She was a Graduate of Ilion High School and on December 25, 1947 married Lloyd H. Cristman, Jr. at Annunciation Church. They built their home in Rome on Williams Rd., sharing a union of 43 years and raising five children. 

Beverly was devoted to her Lord, her family and to her church. She loved being together with her family celebrating birthdays and holidays, cooking and sharing wonderful meals with love and laughter. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church where she taught children’s religious instruction classes and was part of a home prayer group for many years. She was also a volunteer of the Rome Health Hospital Twigs Group. 

Beverly was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd H. Cristman, Jr. September 18, 1990.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alexandra Rutherford, Rome and Mrs. Julie Perry (Steven), Frankfort; three 

sons, Lloyd (Kip) Cristman lll (Patty), Holland Patent, Edward P. Cristman (Rita), San Raphael, CA and Daniel E. Cristman, San Bruno, CA nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers of Bethany Gardens Nursing Home for their care and attentiveness given to Beverly while a resident there.

Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome on  Wednesday October 30^th, from 2-4:00 p.m. followed by a brief funeral service.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31^st, at  St. Paul’s Church.
