Obituary of Dorothy A. Loparco

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dorothy Ann Loparco of Camden, formerly of Westmoreland, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, at Colonial Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rome.  Dorothy was born on October 24, 1938, in Utica, New York.  She was educated in Utica Schools.  On May 29,1956 she married Frank V. Loparco.  She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, and by their son, Frank V. Loparco.

Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Dana Parker of Hernando, Florida and Francine and Timonthy Humphrey of Lee Center, as well as three grandchildren, Rachel, Andrew, and Lucas.  Also surviving are three of her siblings,  Susan, Tim, and Kenny and their spouses, along with several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy made many lifelong friends in Westmoreland when her children were young.  She also had several “horse” friends, as she had a true love of Arabian horses and spent many weekends going to horse shows and pouring over her Arabian Horse World magazines with these friends.

After she moved to Camden, she enjoyed playing pinochle with her family and the new friends that she had made.  She also enjoyed her flower gardens, horseback riding and spending time with her dogs.

In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, NY 13316.

The family would like to extend appreciation for the care given to her by the staff at Colonial Park during the past few years.
