Obituary of Ellen S. Kimmel

Ellen (Schiffer) Kimmel 92 formally from Rome NY passed away on  October 6th in Orange City Florida. She was born in Utica NY.  Ellen was the daughter of the late Erwin S and Mary (Young) Schiffer.

Ellen was formally a member of the ladies’ auxiliary with the North Bay Volunteer Fire Department. She also worked at Revere Copper products in the general office for many years.

 

Ellen is predeceased by her husband of more than 70 years James W Kimmel Jr. She is survived by her children  Linda  (David) Evans (VA), James (Susan) Kimmel III, (NY) Kenneth (Mary Ann) Kimmel, (NY) Michael Kimmel (Wendy Bowers) (NY), Mary (Ric) Strouse (SC) Carol (Nick) Spataro (SC) , 19 grandchildren and  many great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters Judith L. Flanigan and Suzanne Swasey. Ellen also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

 

She spent many years in Myrtle Beach SC.  Ellen loved reading and listening to music . Ellen was a computer whiz and always helped with technical challenges. She loved her dogs and had rescued several over the years.  She was passionate about providing them excellent  care. Services will be private.
