Each December I looked forward to receiving Great Aunt Nettie’s Christmas card and letter. I appreciated her sharing what was happening in her life. I felt valued to be on her list. I saved her cards and letters every year. She will be greatly missed and thought of dearly especially during the Holiday season.

Dear Hartigan Family, I was lucky enough to be the Director of Education and Volunteers and be Nettie's "boss". She and Katie were the real bosses and let me know whenever they needed anything for the hospitality cart. They were quite the team and I so enjoyed seeing them and hearing their stories! Nettie often would tell me humorous anecdotes about the patients they visited! I am laughing right now about some memorable events!! She and Katie not only brightened the patients day but also the staff! Please know she also talked loving about her husband and how wonderful he was also. I am happy that they are now together again and that I was lucky enough to be her friend. Many prayers for her family. She will be so missed! Julie Chrysler

I remember how easily she made everyone feel comfortable like family she had us over for lunch once and she made beans and greens and Italian bread so delicious we laughed and talked better than any restaurant I will miss her smile

Our prayers go out to Aunt Nettie’s entire family. She will be missed so much. I really enjoyed keeping in touch with her on the phone and every time I visited New York. I especially loved talking to her about cooking, and felt so special when she shared her Italian Sausage Recipe with me! I still make it and tell my family and friends whose recipe it is. When ever my wife and I were in Rome we always made it a point to visit with cousin Nettie.....Always full of conversation and stories of all her travels around the country ,places she lived and friends she made along the way.....Only got to know Nettie well in the last 15 yrs but in that short time got to know her and love her for who she was....We will miss the nice visits and conversation and laughs when we are in Rome.....She will be missed by many.....
