Obituary of Margery A. Scheideman

Margery A. Scheideman, 81, of Rome, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica. She was born in Rome on January 18, 1943, a daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Guardinot) Drake, Sr. She was united in marriage to Allen Scheideman in 1970. He passed away March 19, 2001.

Marge worked many jobs throughout Rome including at the YMCA and VFW, and most recently she was a Senior Companion for the CNYDSO.

Marge was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Scheideman; three brothers, Lyle Drake, Merwin Drake (Linda) and William Drake; a granddaughter, Sadie; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Tessa Drake and her son, Darin.

Marge’s family would like to thank the staff at the West South St. IRA for their loving care and compassion.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 27th at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440, on Friday prior to the service at the cemetery from 12-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Marge’s memory to the Immanuel Baptist Church.
