Obituary of Donna R. Beckwith

Donna Rae, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 with her loving family close by.

Donna was born on April 15, 1942 in Rome, NY to Stewart and Mary Young. Donna grew up in Rome, NY with 5 sisters and 4 brothers and attended Rome City Schools.

Donna radiated strength, perseverance and patience. Her love for her family was of utmost importance; indeed, she was her family’s biggest cheerleader and glue that held everyone together.  Donna was always the one behind the camera or camcorder making sure every moment was recorded and that her family had memories to cherish.

Donna was a long-standing member of the Rome Moose Lodge where she enjoyed playing pitch and shuffleboard and being around family and friends.  In her free time, she enjoyed crafting (which she passed that gene down to her daughters and granddaughters) going to the casino and of course spending time with family watching home videos.

Donna was predeceased by her parents Stewart and Mary Young, Daughter, Cherie Hebert, Granddaughter Shyanna O’Brien, and 3 siblings.

Surviving beside her are her children: Mary (George) Marsh, Melissa (William) Dake, Keith (Judy) Beckwith, Kyle Beckwith, Kirk Beckwith, Kendall Beckwith, Kreg Beckwith, Kevin (Kellie) Beckwith, Christine Beckwith. Grandchildren: Alicia (Devin) Madonia, Desiree (Michael) Beckwith, Nicole (Keain) Beckwith, Karisa (JT) LaZore, Kyle Beckwith, Maranda (Kris) Beckwith, Kevin (Amanda) Beckwith, Keith (Kirsten) Sharpe, Nathan Sharpe, Brandon Sharpe, Danielle Beckwith, Jessica Beckwith, Skyla Jimenez, Raelynn Jimenez, Zachary Dake, Brianna Dake, Kayla Beckwith, Alexis Beckwith, Carly Beckwith. Thirteen Great Grandchildren, several siblings, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Hospice for their excellent care, compassion, kindness and support that they provided for Donna and the family.

Family and Friends are invited to calling hours from 12:00pm - 2:00 pm on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440. Funeral services will follow at Rome Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
