Edward D. “Eddie” Chentnik, III, 47, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Rome Health.

 

He was born on September 15, 1976, in New Hartford, the son of Edward D. and Cynthia (Coleman) Chentnik, II.  At a very young age, his mom passed away and he was raised by his parents, Ed and Jennifer Hinman-Chentnik.  He was a 1995 graduate of Rome Catholic High School and went on to receive his associate’s degree from MVCC.

 

Eddie was employed locally around CNY with his last employment being in the maintenance department of Teugega Country Club.

 

Eddie was of the Catholic faith.  He enjoyed his time spent on Lake Delta, both in the summer months and the winter. He enjoyed being near water and the winter sports when there was snow on the ground.  His greatest accomplishment and his pride and joy was his son, EJ.

 

Surviving are his son, Edward “EJ” Chentnik, of Rome; his two brothers, Justin Chentnik, of CO, and Benjamin Chentnik, of South FL; his brother-in-law, , Daniel New, of Denver, CO; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his sister, Courtney C. Chentnik-New, and his parents, Edward D. Chentnik, II, and Jennifer Hinman-Chentnik.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, where the Rev. Robert Kelly will officiate. Interment will take place in the family plot in Rome Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited and may call prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
