Obituary of Marden F. Landry

Marden F. Landry, 87, of Rome, passed away peacefully at Bethany Gardens on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Born in Amsterdam, NY, on October 17, 1936, he was  a son of the late Lawrence and Irene (Cushman) Landry. On July 5, 1958, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Mezza. She passed away September 17, 2021.

Marden worked for New York State at the Marcy Psychiatric Center for many years.

He earned a Black Belt in Karate at Bailey’s Karate School under the direction of Terry Donovan. He was  master craftsman and spent many hours in his woodshop doing carpentry work.

Marden is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marden L. and Joelle Landry and Johnny and Cynthia Landry; three grandchildren Justin and Jason Landry and Jessica Morrissette; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Virgnia Ann Kubiak (David); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, August 1st, from 4-6:00 p.m.
