Obituary of Donald E. Van Schoick

Donald E. Van Schoick, 94, of Camden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville. He was born in Flint, MI, on June 30, 1930, a son of the late Elias and Lia (Milla) Van Schoick. On July 24, 1954, he was united in marriage to Suzanne Conley, a blessed union of almost 70 years.

Don enlisted in the United States Army in 1951 and fought for our country in the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Williamstown American Legion.

Don worked at Camden Wire for over 30 years. He was a member of St. John’s Church in Camden and enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, softball and playing pool. He loved to eat good food and was a grill master.

Surviving besides his loving wife, Suzanne, are two daughters, Kathy Brady (Kevin) and Amy Schrock (Dean); his sister, Suzanne Norman; five grandchildren, Greg McNabb, Jeremy McNabb (Amber), Tracy Pominville (Brent), John Moreno Jr. (Amanda), and Alicia Moreno; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan McNabb (Cabrey), Mason McNabb, Lexi McNabb, Zoey McNabb, Jason Moreno, Adrianna Moreno and Adyllena Moreno; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas Van Schoick; a sister, Luella Washelaski; and three brothers, John Van Schoick, and Louis and Jim Briggs.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden NY 13316.
