Obituary of Linda E. Young

Linda E. Young, 75, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. She was born in Rome on August 28, 1948, a daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (Beckwith) Valencourt. On June 29, 1968, she was united in marriage to William R. Young.

Linda worked at Varflex Corporation for many years. She was a member of the Rome Salvation Army Church.

Surviving besides her loving husband, Bill, are four daughters, Dana Byrnes (Michael), Patricia Hader, Billie Jo Young (Wade) and Natalie Young (Omar); three brothers, Robert Hill (Paula), Dennis Valencourt, and Joseph Siegler; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Jeannette Ingersoll, Karen Satterly, and Donna Siegler; and two brothers, David and Bruce Valencourt.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440.
