Obituary of Sandra Sue LaPlante

Sandra Sue LaPlante, 85, born March 19, 1939 in Fort Worth, Texas passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Linda Schebel, in McAllen, Texas. She was the daughter of Bruce Walker and Dorothy Marrs Jacks and beloved Paul Jacks Jr., along with her sisters Dorothy Keoughan, Linda Powers Riese, and Suzette Smith. She graduated from R. L. Paschal High School in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1957.

Over the course of her life Sandra held various administrative assistant positions, including the office of the Attorney General in McAllen, Texas. She was also trained as a supervisor of group homes for The ARC in Oneida, New York. Sandra was a very spiritual person, and completed courses with The Universal Spiritual Circle Church to become an ordained minister on May 10, 1998. In addition, she was an avid solo soprano singer in her church choir. 

Sandra, who went by her middle name Sue, will have her memory and love continued on by the following family members, and significant others of family members. She is survived by three children created with Richard Douglas Schebel. They are Linda Diane Schebel, of McAllen, Texas, Richard Paul Schebel, of Rome, New York, and Michael Joseph Schebel, of Westmoreland, New York. Their significant others are David Wagman, former husband of Linda Schebel, Karen Schebel, wife of Richard Schebel, and Patricia Heffner, girlfriend of Michael Schebel. Sandra has three grandchildren, Shelby Kiehn and Ashley Griner, daughters of Michael Schebel and Irene Rapasadi, and Jake Wagman, son of Linda Schebel and David Wagman.. Shelby Kiehn is married to Ernie Kiehn, Jr. As well, she has two great-grandson's, Thomas Griner and Ayden Griner. 

There will be a graveside service at St. Mary's Cemetery, located at 1106 West Liberty Street, Rome, New York on Saturday August 3, 2024 at 12pm.
