Obituary of Edward L. Kohl
Edward L. Kohl, 76, of Taberg, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Abraham House of Rome. Born in Rome on April 16, 1948, he was a son of the late Niels and Dorothy (Murfit) Kohl. He was a 1967 graduate of Rome Free Academy and on March 28, 1969, he was united in marriage to Mary Taylor.
Ed served his country in the United States Army from 1968-70 and was a member of the Meeker-O’Rourke Post 1309 of the American Legion in Taberg.
Ed worked for many years at Rome Manufacturing and most recently was employed by the MGS Group, from which he retired.
He loved to fix cars in his spare time and was most proud of his 1955 Chevy that he restored with his family.
Surviving besides his loving wife, Mary, is a son and daughter-in-law, Kirt and Sherry Kohl; a sister, Freda Roser; two grandsons, Harley (Nicole) and Jake (Jazmyn); two great-grandsons, Hudson and Holden; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Baird; sister, Rita; and two brothers, Larry and Frederick.
