Obituary of Jasper A. Westcott
Jasper A. Westcott, 92, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He was born in Rome on August 31, 1931, a son of the late Clarence and Bertha (Parish) Westcott. On October 24, 1953, he was united in marriage to Joan Hastings.
Jasper enlisted in the United States Army on January 5, 1949, and served during the Korean War until being Honorably Discharged in 1953.
He worked for many years at General Lumber in Rome. He was avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving besides his loving wife of 70 years, Joan, are seven daughters, Sharon Westcott, Diana Vierow (Herman), Mary Myers (David), Linda Westcott, Tina Akers (Ron), Candy Pratt, and Laurie Ringgold (Robert); three sons, Wayne Westcott, Terry Westcott and Jeff Wishart (Theresa); a sister, Ethel Hoggatt; fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Jason Westcott; a sister, Caroline Carter; and five brothers, Clarence Jr., Lloyd, Carl, Richard, and Frederick.
