She was born on June 16, 1967, in Rome, the daughter of Lawrence Amo, Jr. and Linda Purdy. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and earned her Associate Degree from Mohawk Valley Community College. She was united in marriage to Andrew J. Mackey, Sr. in Lee Center. Mr. Mackey predeceased his wife. Michele was formerly employed by ECR International, EMI Division, in Rome. She was an animal lover, a member of the Rome Humane Society, and the St. Bernard Rescue Center. Surviving besides her parents, Lawrence, of Taberg, and Linda and Jack Purdy, of Blossvale; her fiancé, Eric Martin, Sr., of Lee Center; a daughter, Samantha Amo, at home; four sons, Michael Amo, of at home; Jonathan Amo, of Deerfield, Andrew Amo, and Eric Martin, Jr., both at home; a brother, Chad Amo, of Blossvale; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Hannah. Michele was predeceased by a brother, Kelly Amo. Services: Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Friday, October 3, 2008, at 6:00 PM where the Rev. Arthur Miner will officiate. Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
