Mierek, Sr., 86, of Stittville, died on Friday, September19, 2008 at his residence. He was born May 17, 1922 in Northwestern the son of Anton and Anna Traczyk Mierek. Mr. Mierek was educated in Westernville. On October 12, 1946 he married Mary Sledziona in Transfiguration Church. Frank owned and operated a dairy farm in Westernville for several years and later in Stittville. He was a member of St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent. Frank along with his wife were avid pitch players and participated in several tournaments. Surviving besides his wife, Mary, are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Frank Mierek, Jr., Stittville; Peter and Debby Mierek and Walter and Barbara Mierek, all of Westernville; Martin and Linda Mierek, Deerfield; one sister, Sister Mary Regis, Buffalo; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers, Valenty, Stanley, Joseph and John Mierek and two sisters, Victoria Lepkowski and Julia Sledziona. Services: Funeral will be held Monday at 9:00A.M. from the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome and 10:00A.M. from St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent. Interment Townsend Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M.
