Obituary of Paul A. Telesco
Paul A. Telesco, Sr., 74, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New Hartford following complications from heart surgery in September. Born in Rome on April 4, 1949, he was a son of the late Anthony and Rose Marie (Mondo) Telesco. He was a 1968 graduate of Rome Free Academy.
He was a volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol and had a life-long interest in aviation and astronomy. He worked at White Eagle Bakery as an expert donut maker. He worked for several years at Spargo Wire while also supporting his family by working second jobs at Carl’s Drugs and delivering pizza. Then Paul began a long career with the State of New York, eventually becoming a supervisor with the CNYDDSO for many years until his retirement when he was able to travel to Sicily and Italy on the vacation of a lifetime. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing Softball for Red Coach Restaurant and bowling on several leagues in Rome and in recent years, he was an active member of Sociable Singles where he often hosted card parties and enjoyed annual gatherings. He could fix anything, balance a checkbook to the penny, enjoyed watching South Park and crime dramas and his cheesecake was amazing.
