Obituary:Kevin F. (Cuz) Uvanni, 49, of Rome, New York, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at University Hospital, Syracuse after a courageous 10-year battle with leukemia. He was born on May 8, 1957 in Rome the son of Edward (Dick) and Eileen Uvanni. Kevin was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On August 23, 1986 he married Janet Boncella.
He was employed by the Rome DDSO and previously operated El Chico's Bar and Restaurant.
Kevin was a fun loving husband, father and friend. He enjoyed bowling, his motorcycle and was an avid Yankee Fan.
Surviving besides his wife are his mother and step-father, Eileen and Leo Wierzbecki, Westmoreland; father and step-mother, Dick and Amy Uvanni, Rome; two sisters, Cheryl Uvanni, Rome; Gina Chilson, Horseheads; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Colleen Uvanni, Rome; Edward and Maria Uvanni, Lakeland, Florida; several nieces nephews and cousins. Kevin is also survived by his mother-in-law, Helen Boncella; three sisters-in-law, Susanne (Joseph) Wilczynski and daughter Erica, Marcy; Elaine (Pat) McNamara, Rome; Sally (James) Seibel, Blossvale; three brothers-in-law, Thomas (Rosemary) Boncella, Rome; James Boncella and Marion Terry and Ronald (Patricia) Boncella, all of Blossvale and special friend, Pat Kesler and Judy. He was predeceased by his son, Sgt. Michael Uvanni, who died October 1, 2004.

Services: Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Thursday 8:15A.M. and St. John the Baptist Church 9:00A.M. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Contributions maybe made in Kevin's memory to the Sgt. Michael Uvanni Scholarship Fund.
