I would just like to say that he was the best grandpa anyone could ask for. Whenever I needed him he would be there supporting me and loving me no matter what it was. We always had so much fun together on the farm or just talking. He was always a happy guy and would always make the best out of any situation even if it was upsetting or a touchy topic. He loved us all dearly and would want us to still think about the best times we had with him rather than us crying about him no longer being here with us. It’s a very sad thing that has happened but I know grandpa is very proud of us for never giving up on him. He always had a smile on his face and I miss seeing that smile but I will always remember it because it was my favorite to see. I know he will protect me and all of us in the best way he possibly can because that’s the type of guy he was . My grandpa was my hero and always will be

James Kelley written by Leo Kelley
I would rather do another tour in Vietnam than speak in front of a group of people. But here I am , I would do anything to honor my brother Jim. He was voted Ideal senior class of 1954. Our mom liked to remind us if that , she was very proud of him. Humble and kind, strong abiding faith and total devotion to family. His greatest joy was being with family. Son of a son, of a son of a farmer he carried on the tradition all his life 24/7. His vacations were to watch the kids play sports. He did visit us in Colorado, one of the highlights was we saw him in shorts for the first time!! Our mom liked to kid us about not being big on convention or talking the talk, but boy we could talk up a storm about sports and walk the walk on the ball field thanks to big brother Bill. One of my earliest memories of being with Jim was in the 1950’s, riding on the tractor Farmal 1A with him going down the hill on New Street now Moran Post, to me that hill was a mountain. Jim got off the tractor, I was at the wheel scared to death. I got through it knowing he was there if I needed him. That’s the story of his life always there if you needed him, probably not by phone or text but always at milking time. Jim was coach of my Babe Ruth team the Red Sox. When I hit my first home run all I remember was rounding third and seeing him waiting for me at home plate. In recent years I enjoyed climbing up on the big Farmall riding with him, bailing hay the old fashioned way kicker bakes and wagon!! He would give it a little more gas more power, we didn’t talk just enjoyed the ride!! In the game of life Jim hit it out of the park. He never hesitated to sacrifice himself for the good of others. Well it’s the bottom of the ninth you’re rounding third heading for home. Our MVP. Rest in peace big brother until we meet on the field of dreams

I remember Uncle Jim as a hard worker who always had to leave the family reunions early to go milk the cows. I never envied the life of a dairy farmer. My dad (his brother) once traded a beef cow for a one of Jim's dairy cows and we had to milk that cow by hand every morning and evening. Our milk consumption dropped drastically at that point, as raw milk was new to us beef farmers. I have many fond memories of the Camden farm, was so glad that Jim took it over from Grandpa to keep it in his family. Jim I look forward to seeing you again in Heaven where you won't have to leave the gathering early to go milking.

Uncle Jim, I can still remember the first time you waking me up at 4am to help you with the milking! I can still here you call my name to get up lol.. I have had so many wonderful memories at the farm and you were always apart of them. I will truly miss hearing your voice on the phone and seeing you when I come to visit. It won't be the same. Love always
