Flagg, 69, of Elsie Street, Rome, New York, died Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was born October 12, 1938, in Rome, the daughter of James and Ina Martin Lawless. Jean was a graduate of Saint Aloysius Academy. In 1981, she married Eugene Flagg in Utica. He died June 1, 1983. Mrs. Flagg was employed by Griffiss Air Force Base for over ten years and was previously employed at Marine Midland Bank. Surviving are one sister, Helen Sheldon and one brother, William Lawless, both of Rome; several nieces, including two special nieces, Robin LaLonde, and Debra Bernhardt and several nephews. Services: Private funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome at the convenience of the family. Interment Rathbunville Cemetery.
