Obituary of Carol Rodriguez

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Linda Carol Rodriguez, age 74, transitioned peacefully on the evening of September 27, 2023 after enduring a number of long term health complications.

Better known as Carol or Carolyn by friends and family, she was born on September 14, 1949 in Broward County, Florida to Lillie Mae and Mathew Cooper. As a young child, she and her family relocated to Rome, NY where she grew up and would later raise a family of her own. She graduated from Rome Free Academy (Class of 1967) and worked in the health professions as a nurse’s aide for several decades until her retirement.

Carol loved music, most notably jazz, and was known for her intelligence, sharp wit, gentle nature and her genuine being. She will be greatly missed by all of us who loved her spirt.

Carol is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gilbert L Rodriguez II; 3 children, Corrine, Gilbert III and Christina; 2 beautiful granddaughters, Makeda and Astrid (Corrine); and 2 handsome grandsons, Tanner and Carson (Christina). She is also survived by 3 younger siblings, William Cooper, Jacob Louis Pitts and Sandra Pitts; as well as an abundant extended family.

Our sweetest angel returns to the light joining many others we have lost.
