Obituary of Robert A. Marcinkowski

Robert A. “Bob” Marcinkowski, 69, of West Leyden, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Rome Health. He was born in Constableville, NY, on August 17, 1954, a son of the late Louis and Clara (Palaski) Marcinkowski. On July 16, 1977, he was united in marriage to Shelene Perry.

Bob was a machinist and started his career at Laribee Wire before moving on to Omega Wire and later retiring from International Wire in Williamstown.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and hike. He enjoyed camping on Lake Lila and Little Tupper Lake.

Surviving besides his loving wife of 46 years, Shelene, is a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Robert Whaley; a brother, Louis Marcinkowski (Lynne); two grandchildren, Claire and Corey; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 22^nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s  Church, 200 N. James St, Rome NY 13440. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440, on Thursday, September 21^st from 4-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bob’s memory to the Humane Society of Rome.
