Obituary of Robert J. Zielinski
Robert J. “Bob” Zielinski, the son of the late Dr. Anthony and Celia Zielinski, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, after a brief illness. Bob graduated from Rome Free Academy with the Class of 1963. He worked various jobs until he was hired by the City of Rome Fire Department, from which he proudly retired after serving for more than 20 years.

Bob could be seen fishing on many local lakes especially Lake Delta in winter where he sought out crappy and perch, or at his camp on Oneida Lake looking for walleye.
He is survived by a sister, Virginia Olszewski; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Kathie Zielinski; a niece and several nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Anthony “Bud” Zielinski; and brother-in-law, Dr. Walther Olszewski.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 11th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
