Obituary of Don D. Deeley

Don D. Deeley, 75, of Lee Center, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023. He was born in Blossvale, NY, on June 23, 1948, a son of the late Charles and Pauline (Collins) Deeley. In 1999, he was united in marriage to Christine Walker.

Don worked for the City of Rome for 30 years, retiring in 2007. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish for walleye and hunt deer.

Don enjoyed antique shopping and metal detecting, and spending time in his garden. He loved to bake and cook for his family and spend time outside talking with his neighbors.

Surviving besides his loving wife, Christine, are six children, Terri Deeley, David Deeley (Dana), Jamie Deeley (Katrina), Eric Deeley (Heather), Vanessa Witzigman (Chad) and Jessica Zwierecki (Marcus); a sister, Lorraine Spencer; eleven grandchildren, David, Darian, Brianna, Ryan, Josh, Katie, Jessica and Michael Deeley, Austin  and Skyler Witzigman, and Haila Zwierecki; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Dawson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Wayne, Lonnie and Paul Deeley; and a granddaughter, Laila Zwierecki.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
