Name: John Grocholski Date of Death: Friday, April 20, 2007 Residence: Rome, NY Age: 85 Obituary: John A. Grocholski, Jr., 85, passed away April 20, 2007 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born January 18, 1922, the son of the late John and Mary Dziuma-Grocholski. John was educated in the Boonville School District. He worked the family farm and was employed at Revere Copper and Brass for thirty-seven years retiring in 1984. John was a life member of the Rome Polish Home. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a life member of the Greenway Verona Mills Fish and Game Club. Survivors include, great-nephew Peter G. Grocholski,III and wife Sarah, great niece Piper G. Grocholski and significant other, Gary Reese, niece, Gwen Hershman and husband, Robert and two great-great nieces Stephanie and Pazia, John was also greatly known and loved as Papa John to long time companion Stella Johnson's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Walter, Joseph, Alex, Michael and Edward, nephew Peter and long-time companion Stella Johnson. The family would like to thank Dr. Parker, The Rome Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and Cardiopulmonary Department for their professionalism, compassion, and care they all had provided to John and his family. Services: Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome, Monday 9:00A.M. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Sunday.
