Name: Marguerite Shirley Powers Date of Death: Thursday, March 09, 2006 Residence: New Hartford NY Age: 78 Obituary:Marguerite Shirley Powers, 78, formerly of Rome died Thursday March 9, 2006 in the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford after a long illness. She was born March 24, 1927 in Rome, the daughter of DeForrest and Evelena Kirk Clemens. She was educated in Rome schools. On October 24, 1958 she married Francis Powers, Sr. He died February 24, 1995. Shirley worked at Griffiss Air Force Base for several years. She was also a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. Mrs. Powers is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Christopher Nielsen, Maidens, VA; a son, Francis Powers, Jr., Utica; a sister, Marion Tanner, Rome; a brother, Richard Clemens, Verona; two grandchildren, Danielle and Erik; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Leslie, DeForrest, and James Clemens. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Rathbunville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7pm. Services: Calling hours Mon. 4-7pm Funeral services Tues. 1:30pm at the funeral home
