Obituary: Ruth L. Grogan, 90, formerly of 1603 N. Madison St. and the Rome Home, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 in Bethany Gardens. She was born February 21, 1917 in Rome the daughter of William B. and Margaret E. Griffin Grogan. Ruth was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy Class of 1935 and the Utica School of Commerce Class of 1936.
She was employed at Rome Cable Corporation as a purchasing agent for twenty-six years, retiring in 1981, and was previously employed by the New York Central Railroad.
She was a member of St. Paul's Church, and a former member and secretary of the parish council for several years. She was also the St. Paul's Church Historian. In addition, Ruth was a charter member of the New York State Secretaries Association and was past New York State Treasurer of the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
Surviving are two nieces and their spouses, Cheryl and Steven Jacobs, Rome; Kristen and Glen Haskell, Chardon, Ohio and two great nieces, Pamela Jacobs, Willowick, Ohio; Mallory Haskell, Chardon. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marion M. and Jeannette M. Grogan and one brother, William B. Grogan.

Services: Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George Street, Rome 8:30A.M. and a Blessing at St. Paul's Church 9:00A.M. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. A memorial Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 10:00A.M. at Paul's Church. Friends may call at the funeral home 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Friday. Contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to the Bethany Gardens Activities Fund, the Rome Home, or a charity of choice.
