(Ginny) Donahue, 81, of Rome Towers, Rome, New York, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Rome Nursing Home, where she had been recovering from an illness since November. She was born September 2, 1925 the daughter of Joseph G. and Pauline Danehy Foley. After the death of her parents she was raised by Bessie and Hank Lennox. Mrs. Donahue was a graduate of Canastota High School. On July 3, 1948 she married John T. Donahue in Rome. Ginny was employed by Dr. Kaplan for thirty years retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Ginny was a member and Past President of the Delta Omega Sorority and was also a member of the Balsam Twig. Surviving besides her husband are one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth And Peter Liney, Vero Beach, Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick J and Karen Donahue, Camden; James A. and Sally Donahue, Perinton, New York; one brother, Jerry Foley, Cazenovia; a sister-in-law, Della Donahue; and several nieces and nephews. Virginia was affectionately known as Nana to her seven grandchildren, Michael and Eric Liney, Sean, Kevin, Meghan, Kate and Erin Donahue and three great-grandchildren, James, Connor and Jason Liney. She was predeceased by a brother, Bill Foley. Ginny's family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Rome Nursing Home for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her during her illness. Services: Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Saturday 10am and St. Peter's Church at 10:30am. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Friday. Contributions may be made in Virginia's memory to St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
