Sczerbaniewicz, 87, of Rome, died March 5, 2007, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born August 12, 1919, in Richfield Springs, the daughter of Joseph and Felicia Briston Peplinski. She was educated in Richfield Springs schools. On June 3, 1939, she married Michael Sczerbaniewicz in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 67 years until Mike's passing in 2006. Frances and Mike farmed in Richfield Springs before moving to Herkimer for 25years and later settling in Rome in 1969. Frances was a member of Transfiguration Church and the Rosary Society. She loved spending time with her great grandchildren, cooking, and listening to Polish music. Frances' family would like to express their sincere thanks to the 3rd Floor Nursing Staff at St. Elizabeth's, the Special Care Unit, and Dr. LaFont, for the care and compassion shown to her during her stay. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Anthony Albrecht, Rome, with whom she resided; a grandson, Anthony and Sue Albrecht, Rome; four great grandchildren, Ashley, Cheyenne, Patrick and Alexandra; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Garbara Kardys, Martha Zvirzdin, and Steffie Szeflinski; three brothers, Joseph, John, and Zigmund Peplinski; and a granddaughter Laurie Ann Albrecht Hawkins. Services: Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:30am at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, and Transfiguration Church at 10am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8pm. Contributions in Frances' memory may be made to the Transfiguration Church Memorial Fund.
